KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching recently received a donation from H&L Retail Sdn Bhd (H&L) comprising 74 charity bags and 20 bags donated by the public to be distributed to the needy.

H&L marketing officer Lianny Bujang said this was just a small effort from H&L to help and provide support to families in need.

“This year’s charity bags are quite different from the past years as our team decided to include a box of face masks in each bag,” she said.

Earlier this month, H&L announced via its social media channels that the charity bags were available for purchase at selected outlets in Kuching, Samarahan, and Siburan.

She said because of the Covid-19 pandemic, H&L was well aware that many had been retrenched from work, especially during the movement control order (MCO).

“Some even face problems with buying food. Thus, in conjunction with the soft opening of our  H&L Xtra at Eco Mall Petrajaya, we have set up a donation bin to encourage customers to drop items such as food and essential goods,” she said.
