Hope Place assists fire victims

KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching jumped to the aid of fire victims from Kampung Rantau Panjang in Batu Kawa after receiving a phone call seeking for help.

The call was received last Saturday (July 13) at 11am and by afternoon, Hope Place responded by donating food items such as rice, salt, sugar, biscuits, and cooking oil along with other necessities like soap, second-hand clothes, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

According to the victim Emeran Narawi, the fire happened on July 12 around 6.30pm. As a result of the fire, Emeran and his family were left homeless and are staying at a relative’s house for the time being.

Currently, Hope Place takes care of more than 190 needy families and can be reached by calling 082-505 987.

Members of the public who wish to make a donation may do so to Hope Place’s Maybank account (5112-8900-1160), under the name “Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching”.
