KUCHING: a housewife lost her handbag to a snatch thief in front of her rented house at Chawan Road here on Wednesday.
According to the 48-year-old victim from Kuala Lumpur, the incident occurred at around 1.00pm while she was about to get into her car when a man riding a motorcycle stopped beside her and pulled the handbag away.
Besides the handbag, she said she lost RM500 in cash, a bank book, a passport and SGD500.
A report on the incident was lodged.
Meanwhile in a separate incident, a ticketing clerk lodged a police report after her room was broken into by thieves on Wednesday.
The victim, in her report, said she received a call at 2.15pm from the owner of a budget hotel who informed her that somebody had broken into her room.
She saidshe rushed to the hotel and upon checking her belongings she found that a laptop and a fan were missing.
Police were investigating both cases.
