Hulu Rajang MP donates RM20,000 to fire vuctims

SEBAUH: Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Datuk Wilson Ugak donated RM20,000 to the victims of the recent fire incident in Tubau Town here.

During the visit to the scene of the fire recently, the Hulu Rajang MP handed over the donation to the victims.

The affected individuals were also given food baskets from the Social Welfare Department and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force.

Meanwhile, KERESA Plantation Sdn Bhd and the Jelalong Tubau Action Committee Association (JTAC) each contributed RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively.

Earlier, New Sarawak Tribune reported that a late-night inferno on Aug 2 destroyed two wooden shophouse blocks in Tubau bazaar.

A total of 31 shops were destroyed in the 11.55 pm incident. Fortunately no injuries or casualties were reported.
