BAU: A man who committed a traffic offence by making an illegal U-turn along KM8.5, Jalan Bau-Lundu, was issued a traffic summons.
The incident was detected by the police after a dashcam footage showing a Perodua Viva making an illegal U-turn went viral on Facebook on July 18.
According to the Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, the posting attracted negative comments condemning the driver’s action that could endanger other road users.
“Following that, the Bau traffic police managed to identify the driver and instructed him to come forward for further investigation and action.
“On Monday (July 24), the driver came to the Bau traffic police office around 9 am to assist in the investigation,” the department said.
The driver was issued a summons for committing an offence under Rule 13 of the Traffic Rules 166/59.
