MIRI: Police seized an imitation pistol along with three bullet casings following the arrest of a 27-year-old man last Thursday.

Miri District Deputy Police chief, Superintendent Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the suspect was still on remand to facilitate investigation on a motorcycle theft case.

“At 4.10pm yesterday (Sunday), the suspect led police to a house in Kampung Tukau Jaya, Bakam here to retrieve several items in connection to the motorcycle theft case.

“During the search, police found a firearm that resembled a revolver and three bullet casings,” he said here.

Stanley said police also confiscated a television set and a laptop believed to be stolen.

He said all items were taken to Miri Central Police Station for further investigation.

“The suspect will be investigated under Section 8(a) of the Arms Act, 1960,” he added.
