Jalan Mukah-Selangau crash claims life of car driver

MUKAH: A 43-year-old man died from severe injuries after his car crashed along Jalan Mukah-Selangau at 5am today.
 
It was understood that the driver, identified as James Landok of Sarikei, died on the spot while his passenger sustained minor injuries.
 
Mukah district police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the victim, a dental assistant, suffered severe head injuries as well as a fractured left arm.
 
Investigations found that the collision happened when the victim’s car travelling from Selangau to Mukah skidded as it approached a corner in the Bukit Dinding area.
 
“As a result of the accident, the driver has been confirmed dead by the Selangau Health Clinic’s medical team.
 
“The body was taken to Mukah Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said in a statement today.
 
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
