KUCHING: The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government is very supportive towards the welfare and role of the Village Security and Development Committees (JKKKs).

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said, “Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has announced in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting that the government will allocate RM100 million to support the committee.

“This proves the government’s commitment towards the role of the JKKKs in Sarawak.”

Uggah added that they (JKKKs) should not be worried of their welfare and role in the state, even without support from the federal government.
