BAU: An unemployed man was arrested on drug charges at Jalan Sitalan in Kampung Jagoi Duyoh, here last Wednesday (April 14).
District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the suspect, who is a local man, was approached by the Bau NCID team at 1.40pm and subsequently conducted an inspection on the suspect.
“While the inspection was being carried out on the suspect who was in a state of anxiety, it was seen in the hands of the suspect that he was holding something he was trying to hide.
“Upon inspection, there was a translucent plastic packet containing white crystallised lumps suspected to be syabu,” he said in a statement today (April 15).
Poge said the drugs were seized and investigated under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He added that the suspect was taken to the Bau NCID office for an initial urine drug test.
“The test results found that the suspect was positive for methamphetamine and is being investigated under section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he noted.
