ROBAN: Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri has stressed the significance of fostering a robust relationship between elected representatives and local leaders, specifically the division and district administration, to effectively coordinate the development agenda of an area and address concerns raised by the community.
“That’s why I emphasise communication and bilateral relations. When there is a close relationship, we can easily discuss and resolve every problem for the benefit of the people, especially when coordinating various projects from entities such as the Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) and the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP),” he said.
Mohamad was speaking after a meeting with Roban Subdistrict administrative officer Steve Miller.
Several BDDA projects in the Roban area have completed the site handover to contractors, with more Kalaka DUN RTP projects awaiting site visits post the voting process.
During the meeting, Mohamad and Steve discussed the development of the Roban Sub District Office’s supervisory area, which is shared by the three DUNs: Kalaka, Krian, and Kabong.
In a separate development, he received a visit from Ketua Kaum Salleh Jerawi, discussing a proposed project to upgrade the drainage system in the village.
“There are areas with drainage system problems that will be upgraded for the comfort of the residents. We are committed to resolving every problem as soon as possible, aligning with the Sarawak Premier’s mission of putting the people first by listening to their needs,” Mohamad added.
