KUCHING: The Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration has brought joy to Kampung Bintangor Besar as 140 individuals from the asnaf (needy) group received donation of sacrificial meat.

Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki said the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok Service Centre had donated cows, with each PBB sub-branch receiving one. Due to the village’s larger population, two cows were provided to ensure ample supply.

In addition, cows were also distributed to suraus, mosques, and even the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) in the Satok area.

“We received a significant number of sacrifices this year, with over 50 cows for the entire Satok area.

“This programme in Kampung Bintangor Besar marks the last distribution, making a total of 18 areas that have received donations,” said Ibrahim when speaking to the press at the Astaka Bintangor Besar compound today (July 2).

During the sacrificial ritual, Ibrahim personally handed over sacrificial meat to 140 asnaf individuals as a symbolic gesture.

“Considering the size of the cattle sacrificed for today’s programme, it is likely that all villagers will benefit. However, our priority is certainly the asnaf groups,” he emphasised.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were PBB Satok secretary branch and political secretary to the Premier, Abdul Samad Gany, PBB Satok division deputy, Hilmy Othman, and Kampung Bintangor Besar community leader, Hamali Bujang.
