KAPIT: Four food shop owners here have responded positively to the call to voluntarily implement Rahmah Menu programme by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (DTCL).

The eateries are Selera Kampung Kak Eda, Rahmat Restaurant 2, Sister Kopitiam, and Nana Bakery & Café.

According to the owner of Nana Bakery & Café, Naroden Ahmad, his restaurant provides two Rahmah menu options, namely chicken or fish and a type of vegetable priced at RM5.

The 63-year-old trader said the menu was served from 9 am to 2 pm.

Meanwhile, Bisnawati Kahar, 34, owner of Restoran Rahmat 2 also stated that the Rahmah Menu programme can help those in need.

She said Rahmat 2 Restaurant provides two types of Rahmah Menu which are chicken and fish with vegetables and the cooking style changes every day.

Additionally, Bisnawati urged other traders to consider registering for this programme because it is voluntary and doing good deeds for others can be rewarded while conducting business.

On the same note, DTCL also invites and encourages more food shop operators to join the Rahmah Menu initiative to help people in need to enjoy complete meals at affordable prices.

Food entrepreneurs who are interested in joining the Rahmah Menu Programme can get complete information from the office of the ministry’s Kapit branch.

For the record, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub announced recently that Malaysians could enjoy RM5 (or below) meals at nearly 15,000 eateries nationwide through Menu Rahmah.

He asserted that the programme is significant to those in need and that it may lessen people’s burdens.

The initiative, according to Salahuddin, offers premium meals, and the government would never allow vendors to sell meals of poor quality made with subpar ingredients.
