SARIBAS: KFKS C Serembang emerged as champions in the Saribas Saberkas futsal tournament held at Kampung Serembang Futsal Court here.
They secured a resounding victory over their closest rivals KSRB Bungin, earning them a cash prize of RM2,000, along with a trophy and medals.
KSRB Bungin, who displayed commendable performance throughout the tournament, graciously accepted the runners-up position and received a prize of RM1,500, as well as a trophy and medals.
Joint third place was awarded to KFKS A Serembang and BGC Upin Bungin, each receiving a cash prize of RM500, along with medals.
The awards were presented by Kampung Serembang headman Kawi Dollah, on behalf of Sarawak Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Mohamad Razi Sitam, who is also the Saribas assemblyman.
Organising chairman Amran Rakli expressed his satisfaction with the event’s outcome, stating that it received an overwhelmingly positive response from the villages in Saribas.
“The participation of 17 teams surpassed the initial target of 16, highlighting the vibrant spirit of sportsmanship among the youth in Saribas,” he said.
