KUCHING: Following a distress call received at 7.54pm on Saturday regarding a fire at Bandar Baru Samariang, Jalan Sultan Tengah, Petra Jaya here, the Petra Jaya Fire and Rescue Services Department immediately dispatched nine firemen in two vehicles led by PBK II Kamri Bujang to the location.
After the fire was doused, the firemen discovered that the fire was caused by a gas stove in the kitchen of the house which was left unattended while cooking was in progress.
Tabuan Jaya Fire Station also dispatched eight personnel and a vehicle to the location.
No one was hurt in the fire.
