KPJ seeks media collaboration on health

KUCHING: KPJ East Malaysia is looking forward to collaborating further with the media in Sarawak.

It hopes to work together more on health-related programmes such as health awareness talks.

Its Regional Media Relation Officer, Paul Mathew, said they wanted to therefore forge a better collaboration with New Sarawak Tribune and its sister paper, Suara Sarawak.

“We had a discussion with the KPJ Kuching team that we would like to have a collaboration in doing health events with the local media here.

“For instance, among others, we can organise health talks for the media, basic health screenings,” he said during a courtesy call to New Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak at its office, here on Tuesday (Apr 5).

He added the team would also like to organise a Media Hospital Tour at KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital.

“We would like to show you around and what are the services offered at the hospital,” he said.

At the same time, he said the purpose of having the courtesy visit was also to enhance rapport with the two newspapers.

“The media is a very important platform to disseminate a lot of information and update in many aspects.

“For KPJ Healthcare Berhad, we are very supportive of the media … the media plays an important role to help us share all the healthcare-related topics and health awareness with the public,” he said.

KPJ Healthcare Berhad, is one of the leading private healthcare providers with 29 specialist hospitals across the country.

Out of the total, four are in East Malaysia namely, KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital, KPJ Sibu Special Hospital, KPJ Miri Hospital and KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital.

Earlier, the KPJ East Malaysia regional team were welcomed by New Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir, New Sarawak Tribune managing editor Aden Nagrace, New Sarawak Tribune Corporate Business Division senior manager Dorge Rajah and Suara Sarawak executive editor Rohana Wahed.

KPJ East Malaysia Regional team also comprised its East Malaysia Regional Head Marketing Communication Ana Ling, East Malaysia Regional Digital Strategist Executive Mohamad Akhmal Abd Latif and KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital Marketing Communication Executive Jeakqleyn Yacho.
