KWB to address low water pressure woes

KUCHING: Kuching Water Board (KWB) will construct two High-Level Tanks (HLT) and undertake the upgrading of a water plant to address low water pressure issues experienced by residents of Kg Sg Mata, Kg Tanjung Parang, Kg Mang, Kg Melayu, and the surrounding areas.

In a press release today, the two HLT will have a capacity of 4.5ML each in Samarindah and the No. 4 Batu Kitang Plant will be upgraded to 100JLH to 200JLH.

Additionally a main pipeline will also be constructed from Batu 7 to Samajaya-Kota Samarahan Royal Malaysian Custom Department.

“KWB will continue to supply water through tanker deliveries to ensure the sustained provision of water to users.

“KWB also wishes to inform that the low water pressure issues experienced by residents in aforementioned areas have been actively addressed for the past two weeks.

“Meanwhile, repairs are also conducted on pipe leakages causing low water pressure in the area. The duration of water supply restoration to users varies from one area to another, depending on the location and distance of user premises,” it said.
