LAKIK offers 11 cattle for Aidiladha sacrifice

KABONG: Kabong Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIK) will offer 11 cattle for the Aidiladha sacrifice this morning. Today is Aidiladha, an auspicious day in Islam which commemorates the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail in obeying God’s command.

Muslims slaughter an animal, usually a cow, buffalo or goat, in honour of the sacrifice. LAKIK chairman, Haji Jarawi Haji Amir said the slaughtering ceremony would take place in the compound of Assabirin Mosque here after the Aidiladha prayers .

“The slaughtering of the cattle will be handled by 11 teams to be headed by village chiefs who will be responsible for distributing the meat to those who are entitled to receive it.

“Kabong State Assemblyman, Mohd Chee Kadir is expected to be present at the cattle slaughtering ceremony this morning,” he said. Meanwhile, three cattle will also be slaughtered at Kampung Sessang mosque at 11am today.

Four cattle will also be slaughtered tomorrow at 7.30am at Kampung Sungai Endot Kabong while five cattle will be slaughtered at 9am at Kampung Nyabor. Four cattle will be slaughtered at 10am at Kampung Gerigat, three cattle at 11am at Empelam Village and two cattle at 4pm at Kampung Alit.
