LIMBANG: LAKU Management Sdn Bhd has mobilised water tankers with a total of 178,000 litres (29 trips) of treated water being distributed to residents in the district.

The water supply company said it is also supplying 622 boxes of bottled drinking water as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme amid water supply disruption affecting the residents.

“Currently, recovery efforts are still ongoing to restore water pressure in the district.

Simultaneously, our team are conduction visual inspection (VIS) along the 33 km route from Berawan Water Treatment Plant to Tedungan,” the company said in a statement.

LAKU said two major pipe leaks were identified, one at Jambatan Sg. Palas and the other at Mile 6, Jalan Kubong on Wednesday (Feb 14).

“Our team is expediting the repair and following up on releasing the ‘air lock’ from the water mains, with the task anticipated for completion within the next 24 hours.

“Once this process is finalised, the water supply will gradually return to normal across all affected areas,” they said.

LAKU added its team is also conducting comprehensive flushing activities to ensure the water supply’s cleanliness and safety as water supply might appear dirty after the repair process.

“Additionally, we have established a water collection point at the Tedungan Shoplot for residents in urgent need of water. Feel free to bring your water containers for collection,” they added.
