Leading offshore marine services provider establishes branch in Miri

MIRI: Perdana Petroleum, a leading provider of offshore marine services for the upstream oil and gas industry has set up a branch in Miri.

Its establishment is a testament to the city’s growing importance as a hub for the oil and gas sector.

“The expansion is an affirmation of a longstanding partnership between Perdana Petroluem and Miri. The presence of such a reputable company contributes significantly to our local economy, bringing with it a wealth of knowledge, opportunities and advancement in the field besides employment of Sarawakians,” said Miri mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang when launching the Perdana Petroleum branch office in Miri today.

Yii noted that Perdana Petroleum’s commitment to corporate responsibility aligns with Miri’s values, emphasising the importance of giving back to the community.

“The establishment of the branch office signifies more than a business decision, it is a shared commitment to the well-being and prosperity of our community, Sarawak and Malaysia,” he pointed out.

Yii welcomed other similar companies to consider Miri for their maritime operations.

Among those present at the launching ceremony were Perdana Petroleum Berhad chairman Datuk Dr Hapiz Abdullah and its managing director Jamalludin Obeng.

At the event, Perdana Petroleum Berhad together with Dayang Enterprise Holding Berhad donated a total of RM40,000 to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Long Bemang.
