MIRI: The Lions Club of Batu Niah organised three charitable initiatives aimed at spreading love and assistance to the students of SMK Subis.

The club commenced its philanthropic endeavours by donating a signboard project for the green garden initiative under the ‘Pendidikan Khas Integrasi’ (PPKI) programme at the school.

Furthermore, the club distributed essential gardening supplies totalling 40kg of organic powder, family pack seeds, hoes, nylon ropes, corn seeds, and vegetable seeds to support the implementation of the Green Garden Project within the school premises.

Additionally, the club extended its generosity by providing school bags and educational materials to 16 students from the ‘Sistem Keluarga Asrama’ (SisKA), representing low-income families, as well as to five orphaned students.

This initiative aimed to alleviate the financial burden on these students and ensure they have the necessary tools for academic success.

In a further effort to enrich the learning environment, the club also presented 35 history reference books to the school.

These books, published by Lions Club International District 308-A2, were designated for students in Forms Four and Five, as well as for library use, enriching the academic resources available to the school community.

The contributions were formally handed over by president Andy Jong Wan Joon to SMK Subis principal Lucy Suliman in a ceremony symbolising the partnership between the club and SMK Subis in fostering a nurturing educational environment for all students.
