Lions Club of Sarikei comes to aid of needy family

SIBU: In the quest of caring for the unfortunate, Lions Club of Sarikei (LCS) came to the aid of a needy family in Sarikei recently.

Donation was made in the form of daily necessities, clothing and cash to the family. The wife is suffering from a debilitating neurological condition that has left her paralysed and the husband is unable to work due to caring for her.

According to LCS president Ling Leh King, the couple, who has three schooling children, has no source of income. 

“They urgently need assistance from kind-hearted individuals,” he pointed out.

During the contribution to the family at their residence, both Lions District 308-A2 governor Kapitan Ronny Hiew and federal Deputy Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, who is also the Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman, represented by Kapitan Ling Dien Yong, were also present to assist and make their respective cash donations.

Among those in attendance were immediate past district governor Kapitan Connie Loh Ming Hua, past district governor Datuk Betty Wong Yieng, vice-district governor I Annie Ho and vice-district governor II Datuk Winnie Lee.
