KUCHING: The 11th Battalion of the General Operation Force (GOF) arrested a local man who was found in possession of a gun and pellets at the ICQ Tebedu on Sunday afternoon at about 4.50 pm.
Commanding Officer of the Battalion 11, Supt Rosdi Inai confirmed that the suspect was driving a Proton trying to gain entry to Sarawak.
He was stopped and checked and in the car bonnet, the GOF personnel found a box wrapped in a black plastic.
After taking it open, they found a gun. Found wrapped were two more items, in white and black. After opening the packages, GOF personnel found 13 boxes with pellets kept in bottles.
The suspect, aged 33, from Kpg Sikong, Mile 14, Penrissen Road was detained for questioning. His car and the items found were all seized. Total value of the seized items were valued RM16,600.
The suspect will be charged under Section 8(A) of the Arms Act 1960.
