Firemen battle blaze as car remains unscathed beneath house.

MUKAH: In a swift rescue operation this morning in Tanjung Manis, firemen saved a small hatchback car from a devastating blaze.

The incident occurred at the Pusaka Tanjung Manis housing area, where the car was parked under a house that caught fire around 9.20 am.

Zone 4 Chief of the Tanjung Manis Fire and Rescue Department, Andy Alie, reported that the fire also engulfed a non-permanent house measuring 30 by 20 feet.

“To control the fire, the Fire and Rescue Department deployed two 100-foot hoses, two nozzles, and one auxiliary supply line,” he said today.

The house, which was 70 per cent destroyed by the fire, was home to five people—a man, a woman, and three boys. Fortunately, none were present during the incident.

Following a thorough assessment, the fire teams concluded their operation around 10.20 am, confirming the area was safe.

Investigations into the cause of the fire and the extent of the losses incurred are currently underway.
