KUALA TERENGGANU: Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team (TSG) sprint specialist Mohd Harrif Salleh does not want the incident that happened during the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2022 to jeopardise the team’s chances of achieving a more perfect finish in this year’s edition.

“For me, if that happens to us, we have to accept it, even though for me it’s nothing.

“But when many people know about it and the video of the incident is being circulated everywhere, I have to be careful. God willing this time it won’t happen again,” he said.

Mohd Harrif was disqualified during the fifth stage of the 26th tour edition after the 34-year-old was found violating competition rules when he clung onto a vehicle on a route from Kuala Kangsar, Perak to Kulim, Kedah.

His absence made TSG’s challenge in the remaining three LTdL races more difficult after having lost team captain Youcef Reguigui in the fourth stage.

TSG finished sixth best out of 20 participating teams and won the Red Jersey (King of Mountain) through Muhammad Nur Aiman Mohd Zariff and the White Jersey (Best Asian Rider) which was clinched by Jambaljamts Sainbayar in the 2022 edition.
