MIRI: Maktab Tentera Diraja Malaysia from Kuala Lumpur emerged champion at the national level Consumer Interactive Challenge-School Consumer Club (CIP-KPS) 2023 held here on Tuesday.
The team walked away with RM5,000 in prizemoney, trophy and certificates.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Tanah Merah, Negeri Sembilan clinched second spot, while Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Raja Perempuan Ipoh, Perak came in third.
The winners bagged RM3,000 cash prize, a trophy and certificates and RM2,000 cash prize, a trophy and certificates respectively.
Fourth and fifth placing went to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kota Marudu, Sabah and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kemayan Bera,Pahang.
Organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Malaysia (KPDN) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE), CIP-KPS is an annual interactive competition aimed to increase awareness among students on consumerism, consumer protection, prudent financial management ,healthy eating and environmental protection.
Deputy Minister Senator Fuziah Salleh attended the prize giving ceremony.
A total 641 secondary schools nationwide involving 2,564 students took part in the competition this year.
Also presenr were Miri MP Chiew Choon Man , Sarawak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) director Matthew Dominic Barin and Miri KPDN chief Joe Azmi Jamil.
