Man caught with RM10,000 worth of drugs

KUCHING: A man was arrested for possessing drugs worth over RM10,000 in a condominium unit at Stutong on Monday (July 26).

District police chief, ACP Ahsmon Bajah said a Kuching narcotic police team led by Insp Bakery Mering  raided the condominium at 2.20pm.

The suspect believed to be involved in drug abuse activities, was arrested at the parking area of the condominium.

“Following the arrest, the team proceeded to inspect the suspect’s residence and found 15 plastic packets containing crystalline powder believed to be Ecstasy.

“The drugs, weighing 398.18g and valued at RM11,250, were seized as evidence along with a car,” said Ahsmon.

Both the man and the items seized were taken to the police station further actions. The suspect also tested positive for drugs.

Ahsmon added that the case was being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
