KUCHING: After failing to hear from his brother after the first day of Chinese New Year, a man decided to check his brother’s house at Pecky Road, Jalan Chawan yesterday.
Sim Kheng Liong, 54, was found in a decomposed state after his brother forced his way into his house yesterday at 9.45am.
His brother told police that the door was locked and he could smell a foul smell from inside the house.
He went in to find his brother in a decomposed state on his bed.
Police went to the scene and found no signs of a break in. The remains were brought to the Sarawak General Hospital for a post-mortem.
The deceased was a widower living alone. He spent Chinese New Year Eve with his family, which was the last time they were together.
