MIRI: A man went on a rampage, turning his mother’s house upside down after he was not allowed to go on a trip to Bintulu by motorcycle.

The incident was reported to have occurred last Sunday evening around 5pm in a house at Bandar Baru Permyjaya here.

The mother also refused to give him money for the trip, and the suspect, aged 25, allegedly attempted to hit her.

Fortunately, the 53-year-old mother managed to flee the scene and lodge a police report.

According to Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, acting on the report, a police team picked up the suspect on the same day, less than two hours after being notified of the incident.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
