Man injured in collision on Pan Borneo Highway

SARIKEI: A collision between a 4×4 vehicle and a 10-tonne lorry along the Pan Borneo Highway near Simpang Bulat resulted in the injury of one man.

According to a press statement issued on Friday (June 23), the incident, reported to the Fire and Rescue Department around 11.35am, prompted a swift response from a rescue team dispatched to the accident site.

The victim, identified as Teo Khai Ghaip, 57, was found trapped in a Toyota Land Cruiser that had fallen five feet off the road.

Paramedics provided initial treatment to the injured individual, who suffered back injuries.

“Using a scoop stretcher, firefighters successfully removed the victim from the vehicle, after which he was transferred for further medical attention,” said the statement.
