KUCHING: A man died of a shotgun blast in an incident that happened at 6.50pm on Monday. The man, 35, was out hunting with a friend in a jungle near Kampung Sadir, Jalan Puncak Borneo here.
According to the village head, he received a call from a man, who said his friend was accidentally shot in the stomach.
The village head then brought the suspect, 63, to the police station in Tapah where he was placed in custody.
Police also seized a shotgun and seven shotgun shells. The victim’s body was brought to the Sarawak General Hospital for post-mortem.
Padawan police chief Supt Aidlil Bolhassan confirmed the case, and an investigation is underway.
