MIRI: A man escaped unhurt after the four-wheel-drive (4WD) he was driving crashed into a metal barrier at Jalan Miri-Bintulu recently.
The victim was driving alone to Morsjaya from the city centre when the accident occurred at around 4.30pm.
Upon arriving at the accident scene, the victim’s 4WD suddenly went out of control and slammed into the metal barrier by the roadside. It was believed that slippery road surface due to rain was the cause of the accident.
Meanwhile in a separate incident, a couple was injured after the motorcycle they were riding went out of control and crashed into a hillside at Jalan Tanjong Lobang here.
The victims were heading to the city centre from Luak when the mishap occurred at around 6.00pm. It was believed that they were descending a hill when their machine went out of control and crashed into the hillside.
An ambulance was called to the scene and both victims were taken to Miri Hospital for treatment.
