MDEC, KCGCCI to host seminar on online trade

KUCHING: The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) will be co-organising a half-day seminar entitled “SMI Digital Economy Readiness & Digital Free Trade Zone” with Kuching Chinese General Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCGCCI) on November 3, 2018 at Dewan Boon Ping, Level 4, Wisma Chinese Chambers, Jalan Bukit Mata here from 9am to 12pm.

The activity aims to introduce to the members and business operators about online businesses with concepts such as Business-to-Business (B2B), Business-to-Customer(B2C) and Business-to-Business-to-Customer(B2B2C) and related.

This seminar will also focus on how to develop online businesses/e-commerce and to encourage more local companies to conduct their cross-border trade by joining the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ), which was launched together with Alibaba Group in year 2017.

“DFTZ benefits Malaysia to become the ASEAN hub of e-commerce and logistics through Smart Marketing services on the platform and hence will double the export growth rate.

“Cross-border trade brings efficiency with the latest technology and innovation in the eFulfillment hub.

“Malaysia’s transformation to become a high-income nation will be speed up by the digital economy, said the statement.

The speakers are from MDEC, Kenix Tan who will present on ‘Cross-border trade and DFTZ’,  Alibaba.com Catherine Chan (One Stop International Trade Solution), Produk Sarawak Abdul Khaaliq Ahmad (eCommerce with B2C) and JOCOM Philip Chan (eCommerce with B2B2C).

The registration fee which is inclusive of lunch for members is RM10 while non-members at RM30.
