MELAKA: The Melaka Open Petanque 2018 Championship is targeting 232 teams in the competition from Dec 29 to 30 at Hang Jebat Petanque Arena in Pantai Kundur, here.
Melaka Petanque Association deputy president, Abd Halim Mydin said the association had so far received the participation of 159 teams in the men’s category and more than 70 women’s teams including teams from Mongolia, Indonesia and Singapore. “The response is very encouraging as more could be coming in just before the closing date,” he said when contacted by Bernama here yesterday.
He said the maiden tournament is organised with the cooperation of Melaka Stadium Corporation and the Sungai Udang Prison Sports Club. – Bernama
