KUCHING: A number of projects undertaken by the Ministry of Works   are being completed even though there have been slight delays in their progress.

Works Minister, Datuk Seri Fadilah Yusof disclosed that 93 per cent of the work for the four-lane road at E-Mart roundabout  – Matang – Stapok including its bridges had been completed.

“The project was given an extended time for its completion due to several utility changes and also because Kuching hosted  Sukan Malaysia (SUKMA) last year.

“I am glad the construction work has caught up in time. Also, the Pan Borneo Highway (Kuching – Serian) is now 51 per cent completed although it is three per cent behind scheduled time.

“The Samarahan Bridge is also facing a slight delay (2 per cent behind schedule). It is now 69 per cent completed.

“At the same time, Jambatan Sungai Ripa in Pusa is also 93 per cent completed. We hope all these projects, under the first rolling plan can be completed within this year,” said Fadillah during an interview after gracing the presentation of Raya Contributions held at Masjid Al-Taqwa, Kampung Pinang Jawa here yesterday.
