SIMANGGANG: Lingga assemblywoman Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor has urged the Ministry of Education (MoE) to allocate additional special funds annually for the organisation of various school activities.

She explained that these funds would cover expenses related to a range of activities within the schools, including sports, art, culture, and design.

DAYANG NOORAZAH received a souvenir from the organisers at the Opening Ceremony of the 2023/2024 Lingga Zone Athletics Championships at the Sri Aman Sports Complex, yesterday.

She stressed the need for consistent financial support from the ministry as “previously, the schools relied on grants from elected people’s representatives.”

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Lingga Zone Athletics Championship at the Sri Aman Sports Complex on Tuesday (Dec 5), she congratulated all principals, teachers, committee members, and students involved in making the tournament a success.

Ten schools from the Lingga Zone participated in the championship.

Dayang Noorazah also shared that Sri Aman would host the state-level schools games next year, providing an opportunity for young talents in sports to showcase their abilities. “It is hoped that Sri Aman Division will triumph.”
