MIRI: The 17th Miri City Day blood donation drive will be held this Sunday (May 15) between 8.30am and 1pm at the Miri Red Crescent premises, Jalan Bulan Sabit here.

It is jointly organised by the MRC Blood Donor Recruitment Committee, Miri City Council, Miri Division Gawai Dayak working committee, Miri Indian Association, Miri Petroleum Women Association and KRT Desa Viana.

The public are urged to come forward so that the blood bank can build up stock before the Gawai Festival begins.

“We hope to have at least 50 successful blood donors,” said organising chairman Cr Karambir Singh. “A certificate of appreciation and refreshments will be given to blood donors.”

He added: “It is good to see so many diverse organisations coming together to also commemorate Miri City Day together. This is a unique and collaborative feature of Sarawak.”
