MIRI: Miri City Council (MCC) has plans to maintain its current building located at Jalan Raja, which has stood since the 1960s.

MCC mayor Adam Yii said that the building was built when the Council was previously known as the Miri District Council. With its colonial architecture, it holds historical significance for the city.

“Therefore, it is worthwhile to upkeep it,” Yii said during a council meeting today.

He further said that the building continues to house the Council’s administrative functions and offers various services to the city.

“Miri Public Library has moved in last month as well Therefore, please be assured that usage of the building will continue to serve its purposes and link to this part of central business district (CBD) even though we have a new city hall in Marina Bay,” said Yii.
