KUCHING: Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) presidential council member Baru Bian has been slammed for saying that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) could lose some votes in the coming 12th state election.

To this, Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh asked Baru on his contributions to Sarawak when he was the works minister under the previous federal government.

“He is the one who cancelled most of the federal projects in Sarawak and still has the guts to comment on GPS,” he told New Sarawak Tribune on Sunday.

Miro, who is also Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth deputy chief, was commenting on Baru’s remarks on GPS’ support for Perikatan Nasional (PN), which PAS is also a member of.

The former Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chief said he is sure there are Sarawakians who feel that GPS has no principle in this matter and that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg’s support of PN could cost him votes in the coming election.

“Baru is too afraid of his own shadow. He keeps mumbling about GPS without realising he is the biggest frog that jumped away when his previous party was in crisis.

“Sarawakians don’t need a leader who only talks without taking action,” he said.
