Missing 63-year-old man found dead in Bau

BAU: A 63-year old man reported missing after failing to return home on Friday (Oct 6) was found dead this morning (Oct 7).

Firefighters and APM personnels transports the deceased’s body to a police truck.

The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Operations Centre said the victim, identified as James Tarang Tigong, was found by rescuers at about 7.30am.

The victim was discovered unconscious 150 metres away from the main road, and believed to have a past history of heart disease.

However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and his body was handed over to the police for further action.

Following the finding, the search and rescue (SAR) operation ended at around 8.29am this morning.

Yesterday, James from Buso, here was said to have gone into the forest alone at around 5pm to look for vegetables before his family noticed that he did not return home.

This led the victim’s family to conduct a search and found the victim’s motorcycle by the roadside which prompted the family to lodge a missing person’s report around 7.55pm.
