The local fisherman has been found alive.

MIRI: A 41-year-old local fisherman who went missing for two days since last Friday after his boat malfunctioned, was found alive yesterday morning by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).

According to Miri MMEA head Captain Md Fauzi Othman in a statement released yesterday, the victim, identified as Wang Ngee Hui, was found about 25 nautical miles off Miri waters.

He was found at 11.15am yesterday.

The local fisherman has been found alive.

“The victim’s boat was malfunctioned…his telecommunication devices were not able to operate properly due to the hazy weather,” Md Fauzi said in the statement.

He added the victim had gone out to sea last Friday at 4.30am.

“When he failed to return home, his family filed a police report at Lutong police station. Acting on the report, a Search and Rescue operation (SAR) was mounted,” he explained.
