The next generation can give back to the nation through education which is why it is important for bodies providing educational assistance to keep up with the changing era, Johari reminded.

“It is important to see the future and reevaluate the role of Yayasan and the type of knowledge we want to impart onto our children for the future.

“The world is changing towards a digital era and like it or not, our country has to head towards that direction and it starts with possessing the latest knowledge.

“To move forward, we have to transform not only our economy but also the standard of education.

“We cannot depend on old ways; we need to adopt new ways and we need to interact with other institutes of higher learning.

“For Sarawak, we want to transform the state’s economy from a conventional to a digital one.

“Only then can we move ourselves to develop to be on par with others,” he said.
