KUCHING: The mobile vaccination centre (PPV) has reached the rural areas of Sungai Lijan.

Mobile PPV coordinator Dr Navin Raj Kathiravelu said residents from Rumah Naing, Rumah Chali, Rumah Changan, Rumah Tangkum, Rumah Unan and Rumah Nanduk were given their second dose of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine.

“As a result of these residents getting vaccinated, the percentage of the population that has been vaccinated has climbed to approximately 80 per cent of the total population eligible for vaccination in Sarikei Division,” he added.

Meanwhile, according to a survey conducted by the Julau District Information Department (JaPen) at Rh Naing on Wednesday (July 28), the programme ran without any complications.

Dr Navin also called upon all Julau residents who have not received their vaccination to immediately go to the nearest PPV.

“The vaccine is to protect themselves and others from contracting the Covid-19 virus, as well as to assist the government in achieving herd immunity by August.”
