KUCHING: The Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) provides care and relief to more than 200 families of children with cancer every year.

The society stated that it has supported over 1,500 families in their cancer-fighting journey since 2001.

“This was only made possible through the public’s commitment to help and continuous trust in us.

“The donations from the public help to ensure the good works that we pursue in progressing greater access of care and support to the childhood cancer community in Sarawak and Malaysia,” it said.

The society shared the statistics for ‘Your Donations at Work’ from January to June this year in a social media post.

The donations contributed allowed the society to channel more than RM20,000 sponsorship of medical consumable such as blood and platelet filters, CVL, saliva kits and needles among others.

Forty-nine children have received medical aid sponsorship for procedures, lab tests, and medications that are not provided by public hospitals.
