Mosque receives RM150,000 for carpark upgrade

KUCHING: The state government has allocatedRM150,000 to Abu Bakar As-Siddiq mosque here to upgrade its parking space to accommodate up to 100 vehicles at a time.

Transport Minister and Senadin assemblyman, Datuk Lee Kim Shin presented a cheque for the amount to the mosque committee on Saturday (Sept 25).

“I have asked the Miri Division PWD engineers to work with the mosque management committee on the estimated cost of the project and promised to help complete the project before the end of the year,” he said during an event held at the mosque.

Chairman of the mosque committee, Ustaz Mohammad Fariduddeen Rosli said the mosque was upgraded in 2020 with an allocation of RM650,000 from the state government, to accommodate the growing population of Muslims in the area.
