Mohammad’s motorcycle was rammed from behind by the car.

SIBU: A computer technician died from serious head injuries, a day after the motorcycle he was on was rammed from behind by a car in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here.

Sibu OCPD ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the accident happened at 3.10pm last Saturday and the 38-year-old victim, identified as Mohammad Herman Elias, passed away at 3.03pm the following day at the Intensive Care Unit of Sibu Hospital.

Prior to the tragedy, the victim and the car driven by a 25-year-old were travelling in the same direction of the airport.

“Mohammad, who was travelling on the left side of the dual carriageway, was suddenly hit from behind by the car,” ACP Stanley said.

He said the driver had been arrested under Section 112 of the Road Transport Act 1987 as he was alleged to have committed an offence under Section 41(1) of the same Act for reckless driving which caused death.
