KUCHING: A 30-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident at KM60, Kuching-Sri Aman Road, Serian on Tuesday.

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim, identified as Mohammad Eldi Hanani, from Kampung Hilir, Serian, was riding alone from Serian town towards Sri Aman at 9.50pm.

“When arriving at the scene, it is believed that the victim lost control of his motorcycle while passing through a winding road on the flyover.

“As a result, the motorcycle hit a road divider wall and was dragged on the road causing the victim to be seriously injured in the head,” he said in a statement today.

Alexson added that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The victim’s body was taken to the Forensic Medical Department of Serian Hospital while the motorcycle was taken to the Serian District police headquarters (IPD) for further action” he said.

Further investigation of the case is underway under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
