KUCHING: A motorshop along Jalan Ellis, were damaged in a fire in the wee hours of this morning leaving about 100 motorcycles completely destroyed.
Two double-storey houses were also damaged during the 2.25am incident. No casualties or injuries were reported.
After receiving a distress call, firemen from Padungan and Batu Lintang stations were promptly deployed to the scene.
Upon arriving, they found that the fire was still raging and carried out the extinguishing works.
The total damage caused to the houses and motorshop, was about 70 per cent.
All of the tenants in both houses managed to get out to safety during the incident.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is yet to be ascertained.
