MP wants extension of NRDA projects

KUCHING: Limbang MP Datuk Hasbi Habibollah called for the extension of ongoing Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA) projects for a brighter future for the local community.

According to him, the projects’ timely completion and expansion into phase two will enhance community benefits.

“We must ensure the continuity of these initiatives to provide better facilities and consider the potential of Limbang as a competitive sports destination with adequate and standard facilities,” he said during a meeting at his office in Limbang on Friday.

Led by the NRDA regional director Datuk Ubaidillah Abdul Latip, the meeting highlighted ongoing projects carried out by NRDA that included road projects connecting various rural areas, a water supply project, district recreational facilities as well as school upgrade and repair projects.

These projects are the road project from Jalan Kampung Pendam to Kampung Ipai (15km); road project from Bukit Lubok to Kampung Seberang Kedai Limbang (3.7km); road project Jalan Rangau to Kuala Limbang (3.2km); Limbang Water Supply Project (Bawang Ubor to Rumah Jubang).

Aside from that, the meeting also touched on Kampung Pahlawan Anjung Usahawan Project; Sungai Pekan Medamit Waterfront Project; and Limbang recreational facilities project.

For the record, NRDA serves to accelerate development in Limbang and Lawas since its establishment in 2018.

With an allocation of RM1.5 billion, NRDA has undertaken a comprehensive range of 157 projects. To date, it has successfully completed 53 projects, with an additional 86 projects currently underway.
