KUCHING: The Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) recently held an appreciation ceremony to honour former board member, Datuk Seri Abang Abdul Karim Tun Abang Openg.

The ceremony was held to appreciate and acknowledge Abang Abdul Karim’s 11 years of dedicated service as a member of the MPC’s Board of Directors, spanning March 1, 2011, to December 31, 2022.

MPC director-general, Zahid Ismail said through the efforts and role of Abang Karim, MPC has grown well in Sarawak.

“This is proven through the involvement and positive cooperation from the state government, industry and interested parties for every programme and initiative organised by the MPC,” he said.

He hoped for ongoing support from Abang Karim towards MPC despite no longer being with the organisation.

“I am confident that this close cooperation will continue to last and will indirectly enhance the productivity of the state,” he said.

He also congratulated Jefri Ahmad Tambi who has been appointed as a new MPC board member, replacing Abang Karim.
