KUCHING: While many spent time visiting Christmas open houses hosted by family members, friends and colleagues, members of the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Stampin District decided to spend the time at the hospital.

Led by its chairman Chong Choon Chiang and secretary Stephanie Sheila Phan, they spent at least three hours from 9am to share the joy of Christmas with the children at the ward.

Apart from distributing Christmas goodies, they also conducted colouring, singing and dancing competitions for the children.

The visit, themed “Loving Hand” gathering, was certainly a surprise for the children because it was never expected, especially on Christmas day itself.

The smiles on the faces of the children upon seeing them coming said it all.

Chong said all they wanted to do was share the joy and happiness of the season with the patients.

Later, they handed to the children Christmas presents, sponsored by generous members of the public and well- wishers.
